Sustainability and Creativity in the Spotlight
Dears - Berlin Fashion Week last week was a real highlight – and we were right in the middle of it. Here’s our review of a week full of inspiring encounters and innovative fashion.
SEEK: Sustainable Fabrics and Exciting Conversations
At the SEEK fair, we met some of our most loyal customers and had incredibly engaging conversations. Particularly cool was the exchange with Christiane Strobl, JannJune, and by Maqu. Although the fair was smaller than last season, the optimism for a soon-to-be recovery in the industry was palpable. Another highlight was the discussions with potential new deadstock partners. Exciting news on that front is coming soon! Our curated and sustainable fabrics were very well received, and we look forward to future collaborations.
Rebekka Ruétz Fashion Show: A Feast for the Senses
An absolute highlight was the fashion show by Rebekka Ruétz. We admired many of our organic fabrics in her collection, including high-quality twill fabrics and our beautiful poplin. By the way, you can buy these fabrics from us in small quantities starting from 1 meter! Alongside other big names like Perwoll and Sketchers, our long-term partner Cotonea was also a sponsor, where you can order the mentioned fabrics in larger quantities starting from 50 meters.
The show was simply breathtaking and demonstrated how creative visions come to life through high-quality materials. After the show, we visited Platte Berlin, where our customers Shepperheyn and Haderlump exhibited their latest creations – naturally made from our fabrics.
Haderlump used our lovely and cozy Sweater fabric in Air for a super nice hoodie which Jeanette immediately fell in love with. The innovative atmosphere and creative designs made the visit unforgettable.
Collaboration with People Berlin: Fashion with Heart
Another inspiring project is our collaboration with People Berlin, who work with homeless youth through Karuna. Together, they developed the 6th "LESS" collection, which is exhibited in the popup space of the Nella Beljan Gallery and Showroom at Leipziger Str. 60/61. The collection, made from our Re-Woven in Navy, our Ribbed Jersey in Black, and our Lyocell Woven in Black, was a complete success. The launch event was well attended and showed how fashion and social engagement can perfectly complement each other.
Future Plans and Exciting Conversations
Mandy Geddert, to whom we owe our many sustainable elastic bands, accompanied us and provided good vibes, especially at the afterparty. We also talked with Dirk from Elmertex about the future use of deadstock fabrics and are very excited to see what may come of it.
Ben at Paris Première Vision: A Look into the Future
Parallel to Berlin Fashion Week, Ben was at Première Vision in Paris to discover the latest innovations in the textile sector. The innovation area was very well-organized and offered a clear overview of the latest developments, which we briefly present here:
Spiber: This company showcased its revolutionary Brewed Protein technology, a sustainable alternative to traditional protein fibers.
Seawool: Fibers made from marine waste that are environmentally friendly and functional.
Bio-based Creora Elastane from Hyosung: This innovation received the first global SGS certification and shows that sustainable elastane fibers are market-ready.
PlaX Fiber: A new fiber that impresses with its environmentally friendly properties and versatile applications.
As you can see, the fairs were a great success in many ways, and we can’t wait to start exciting new projects with you and our dear producers and cooperation partners. Until then, as always: if you have any questions, feedback, or other ideas, please let us know - we always appreciate your feedback!
