Percale is a fabric that owes its name to the Persian word for cloth: pargalah. And this fabric is just as fine as cloth: it is densely woven in a plain weave, yet has a light weight and a beautiful sheen. We'll explain more about its qualities below.

Lebenskleidung Organic Perkale – what you should know about it

Percale is a durable and exceptionally comfortable material. Ours is made from 100% organic cotton and is completely simple.

  • Percale is breathable and cooling – and therefore not so different from linen, only made of cotton. Because of these properties, you can use it especially for your summer bedding or airy throws.
  • We currently offer organic percale in three understated colors that leave plenty of room for more eye-catching accessories. With these, you'll always make the right choice.
  • At first glance, you can easily mistake percale for batiste – however, it is woven much more densely and is therefore considerably more durable!
  • Percale comes in various types. Mako percale, made from Egyptian cotton, one of the most valuable in the world, is a true luxury item. Down percale, on the other hand, is a type of down-filled fabric used for duvets.
  • Percale can be washed at up to 60°C. However, we advise against this, as our ecological awareness naturally extends to the washing machine, and in most cases, washing at 30°C or 40°C is sufficient.
