Fabrics not only determine the look of a dress, but also how it feels to wear. At Lebenskleidung, you'll find a carefully curated selection of fabrics that are particularly well-suited for dresses – from flowing and soft to structured and shape-retaining.

Our dress fabrics are predominantly made from organic cotton , TENCEL™ Lyocell , or corresponding blends. The range is complemented by select jacquards and stretchy jerseys that combine comfort and elegance. All fabrics offer a pleasant feel against the skin, high material quality, and responsible production.

Which fabrics are suitable for dresses?

Depending on the cut, season, and desired drape, different dress fabrics are used. In our range, you'll find materials suitable for both simple everyday dresses and special occasions.

  • Organic cotton satin: smooth, soft and slightly shiny – ideal for elegant, timeless dresses.
  • TENCEL™ Lyocell & Lyocell blends: flowing, breathable and temperature-regulating
  • Jersey & Stretch Jersey: elastic and comfortable for close-fitting or relaxed cuts
  • Jacquard fabrics: textured surfaces for special accents
  • Finely woven fabrics: for dresses with a clear shape and a calm drape.

Sustainable clothing fabrics with high standards

Our dressmaking fabrics are carefully selected to combine design, comfort, and responsibility. Many of our fabrics are made from certified natural fibers or sourced from sustainable production chains. We also offer a selection of deadstock fabrics, which preserve high-quality materials from being wasted and open up new creative possibilities.
