Hemp as a textile fiber
Hemp is a plant stem fiber obtained from the bast of the hemp plant. For textile applications, only low-THC varieties of so-called fiber hemp are used. These plants grow quickly, require relatively little water, and need significantly fewer pesticides than many other fiber crops.
Why hemp in mixed fabrics?
Pure hemp fabrics are very robust, but can appear stiff. In blended fabrics, hemp unfolds its full potential: The fiber contributes stability, durability, and breathability, while other natural fibers – such as cotton or lyocell – ensure softness, drape, and comfort.
- high tear resistance and durability
- breathable and moisture-regulating
- antibacterial properties
- durable and dimensionally stable
- Increasingly pleasantly soft with use
Hemp fabrics in clothing
Our fabrics containing hemp are carefully selected. We use hemp where it is functional and ecologically sound – always in transparent combination with other fibers. You can find the exact material composition detailed for each item.
Sustainability & Responsibility
Hemp is considered a particularly resource-efficient fiber. When used in blended fabrics, it helps to make fabrics more durable and significantly increases their lifespan. This results in textiles that are not only sustainably produced but can also be used for a long time.
