What makes linen fabric so special and how to care for it

Linen fabric is an incredibly wonderful material – objectively speaking. The yarn can be spun so finely that the resulting linen fabrics are smooth and allow very little air to pass through. Yet you won't sweat, because linen is absolutely breathable and temperature-regulating.

• Lint? Bacteria? Microbes? They don't stand a chance here! Linen contains virtually no air pockets, making it anything but a pleasant environment for unwanted guests.

• Linen fabric also regulates moisture. It absorbs sweat very quickly but releases it just as quickly – and therefore has the unique effect of feeling both cool and warm at the same time! Linen isn't elastic, but it also doesn't wrinkle. Instead, it has a beautiful sheen, and not just in sunshine. Linen fabric really doesn't like friction. That's why you should always wash it on a gentle cycle and avoid ironing it if possible.

• Linen is making a comeback! When styled correctly, it can even pass for high fashion. Two-piece suits, blazers, and oversized shirts are very popular, worn with a relaxed, almost glamorous attitude, creating the illusion of a famous artist.
