Excess fabric is a reality – and an opportunity.

Many sustainable brands, producers and agencies are familiar with this problem:

Surplus fabric, remaining quantities or discontinued qualities tie up capital, block storage space and are forgotten – even though they are high-quality materials.

At the same time, designers, labels and manufacturers are looking for exactly these kinds of fabrics: sustainable, limited and ready to use immediately.

This is exactly where our deadstock collaborations come in.

WHAT DEADSTOCK MEANS TO US

Deadstock fabrics are often generally considered sustainable. And yes, reusing materials instead of disposing of them is generally a good idea.

At the same time, we are observing that the term “deadstock” is being used increasingly vaguely – fabrics are being marketed as deadstock even though they continue to be produced or are permanently available.

This is not our understanding.

At Lebenskleidung, we work exclusively with genuine deadstocks :

Fabric surpluses, remaining quantities or discontinued qualities that will not be reproduced .

Furthermore, our deadstock fabrics come from already sustainable supply chains – such as organic cotton, TENCEL™ Lyocell, linen or wool.

For us, sustainability begins not with the resale, but with the original production of the fabric.

THIS IS HOW A DEADSTOCK COOPERATION WORKS
