ORGANIC WOOL AT LEBENSKLEIDUNG

Wool is one of the oldest textile fibers in the world – and remains an exceptionally functional material to this day.

At Lebenskleidung you will find a carefully curated selection of wool fabrics that are distinguished both in their origin and also meet our high standards of quality, animal welfare and sustainability in their further processing.

Our wool range is deliberately diverse. In addition to selected regional qualities such as elbwolle™, we also carry boiled wool from South America as well as high-quality deadstock wool fabrics from existing productions. This allows us to offer different qualities and price points – without compromising on material feel and workmanship.

Wool impresses with its natural properties: it is temperature-regulating, breathable and durable.
At the same time, we pay attention to responsible origin and transparent supply chains when selecting our fabrics as well as a respectful approach to animals and the environment.

Mulesing refers to the removal of skin from sheep for parasite prevention. We reject this practice.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ORGANIC WOOL

Does organic wool itch?

Not necessarily. Whether wool is perceived as scratchy depends primarily on the fiber fineness and the processing. Finer wool qualities are soft against the skin and are well-suited for clothing worn directly against the skin.

What does mulesing-free mean?

Mulesing is a painful practice used to prevent parasites in sheep. We reject this method and ensure that our organic wool is sourced without mulesing and that the animals are treated with respect.

Is wool a sustainable material?

Wool is a renewable, biodegradable raw material with a very long lifespan. Due to its temperature-regulating properties, wool clothing needs to be washed less often, thus conserving resources.

How do you properly care for wool fabrics?

Wool should be treated gently. Often, airing it out is sufficient. If washing is necessary, a wool cycle with wool detergent and as little mechanical agitation as possible is recommended.
