Tencel™ and Refibra™ fabrics in detail
The lyocell process used in the production of Tencel™ is a particularly sustainable method of fiber production. It takes place in two stages and without the use of toxic solvents. Furthermore, 99% of the solvent and water used can later be reused in the production process.
- The face behind this fantastic innovation is the Austrian company Lenzing, which produces around 67,000 cellulose fibers annually – and is therefore a reliable and committed partner for us.
- Thanks to the so-called closed-loop process, waste products are virtually non-existent in fiber production. Everything that enters the process is subsequently recycled back into it. Water consumption is also significantly lower than in cotton processing.
- The resulting fibers and Tencel™ and Refibra™ fabrics are a dream come true! They are breathable, highly absorbent, antibacterial, and feel like a whisper of nothing. A major plus: they are also recyclable!
- Tencel™ and Refibra™ fabrics are similar, yet also different. Refibra™ combines conventional Tencel™ and cotton scraps, then spins them together to create a new fiber. Circular economy principles are not only considered here, but successfully implemented.
- Our Tencel™ and Refibra™ fabrics are simply irresistible! While our Refibra™ shines as a Re-Woven, a finely woven fabric, our Tencel™ transforms a beautifully soft rib jersey into an unparalleled experience. Discover this new product now!
